DIY Easter Mercury Glass Decor

Being a fan of all things shabby chic and a touches of modern style I created a DIY Easter Mercury Glass Decor piece.  I wanted an Easter breakfast centerpiece, something simple and fun.  After a usual (and unnecessary) stop at Target I found my supplies and quickly created my table decor.

I’m totally into green and stripes at the moment.  I snagged this fabric ribbon from Fawn & Flora and had it stashed for a rainy day. Insert typical Florida weather and I’ve had several rainy moments to get my craft on. The green speckle Easter eggs were perfect and found in the Target dollar spot… isn’t the dollar spot the best place!?!  After the Easter holiday I’ll switch out the the decor for something more general.  It only make sense to create centerpieces that can be versatile. Think ahead… always.

How To: I found this mercury glass piece on clearance, super lucky I know.  When using the mercury glass like technique found here you can easily create the same look, any type of clear class container will work for this project.  (Fun Fact: This technique works best with patience, it takes multiple coats and a little scratch work on your end but I promise it isn’t a difficult project.)  Fill the container with moss. The moss adds height and a pretty cushion for your eggs. Simply add your eggs and any other items you choose and dress up your container with ribbon. Easy peasy.
